Berlin, 1989, is a bustling metropolis of three million souls 110 miles behind the Iron Curtain where Marianne Tucker, still emotionally wounded from being jilted at the altar, decides to start her life anew, a journey that takes her from sunny San Diego to the divided and dangerous capital city of Germany. While working as a Foreign Service Passport Officer at the American Consulate, she encounters her runaway ex-fiancé. Jake wants to make amends, but the crazy woman who had destroyed his life has other plans for him. Sylvia wants Marianne out of the picture, he wants the money back she’d framed him for stealing, and Marianne wants the love she thought she’d lost forever. The resultant cat and mouse plot involves the Russians, the Germans, and Cold War dangers at every turn. Marianne must not only fight for her man, she must fight with him, against all odds, to bring Sylvia to justice before they end up in a Siberian prison.

S. Owens: Good Read!!!  Hated putting it down for the night, but finished it the next day!!  Being former military, I was able to relate to a lot that the author presented.  When is the next adventure??

B. Hardy: Reality and romance from the Cold War!!! I was also stationed in Berlin during the Cold War and looked forward to re-visiting some of the people and places mentioned. I loved the characters and attention to detail. I could actually hear, smell and taste the memories.
I hope to see more from this author and other people and places she is familiar with. Could be the same characters or some that were introduced in this book. Will be fun to see where it goes. (Amazon)
