Author Daniel P. Coughlin

Having grown up in the small town of Watertown, Wisconsin, Daniel P. Coughlin often dreamed of what the world looked like outside of his bubble. Joining the Marines in 1997 allowed him this opportunity, and what he saw changed his perception of the world. After being honorably discharged in 2001, he attended film school at California State University Long Beach where he was mentored by acclaimed television writer Brian Alan Lane (Star Trek: Next Generation, Remington Steel, Moonlighting) and interned for his favorite director Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream). Unfortunately for his parents, he became a horror writer and used his experiences to scare readers sleepless and burden them with thoughts about how evil their neighbors probably are. The good news is that he loves it. Coughlin is the author of the novels “Ted’s Score”, “The Last Customer”, “Craven’s Red”, and “The Heartland”. He’s also the screenwriter of horror films “Lake Dead” (Lions Gate), “Farmhouse” (Monarch Entertainment) and “Ditch Day Massacre” (Watertree Media). His short fiction has appeared in magazines and anthologies such as “Strange Tales of Horror”, “Macabre Cadaver Magazine” and “Sex and Murder Magazine”. Coughlin resides in Temecula, CA, with his amazingly talented wife, Kelli-Rae, their ten-year-old son, Kasey “Mad Max” Coughlin, and a demonic cat.
